Meal Makers

Volunteer for this committee and prepare meals in the OJC kitchen.
Home Visits *
Chair: Mimi Rosenstock
Volunteer for this committee and visit with people in their homes. The visits may be to people who have been ill, suffered a loss or are caregivers who need someone to talk with.
Hospital Visiting *
Chair: Millicent Schacher
Volunteer for this committee and visit congregants in hospitals, rehab facilities or nursing homes.
Drivers
Chairs: Howard Teich and Mimi Nemeroff
Volunteer for this committee and drive people to doctor or therapy appointments, or an emergency situation, which requires transportation. Volunteers for this committee need to be available during the day.
Shoppers

Volunteer for this committee and shop for food or run errands for people who need short-term assistance.
Bereavement *
Chair: Carmel Rosenthal
Volunteer for this committee and provide comfort and support for people throughout the eleven month period of mourning and further. This may require phone calls and/or home visits.
Cards

Volunteer for this committee and send cards or Leagrams to community members as a means of outreach and connection. This is a great committee for children to participate.
Baby Connection

Volunteer for this committee and reach out to new moms and dads offering support and information about Jewish rituals for newborns.
Education

Volunteer for this committee and organize educational programs/activities for the Chesed Committee.
Marketing

Volunteer for this committee to create a marketing plan to support the OJC Chesed Committee.
Fundraising
Volunteer for this committee and organize events to raise money for chesed projects.

Cleaning for a Reason...
If you know any woman currently undergoing Chemo, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - 1 time per month for 4 months while she is in treatment.
All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment. Cleaning for a Reason will have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service.

Please pass this information on to bless a woman going through any type of Cancer treatment. This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women. It's our job to pass the word and let them know that there are people out there that care. Be a blessing to someone and pass this information along.
