WAYS TO HELP

TOUCH/Rockland Community Against Hunger GET FRESH Program

Tuesdays 8:45 AM – 2 PM (can stay for any length of time within that time frame)

Thousands of pounds of food will be distributed from the Food Bank to pantries and feeding programs throughout Rockland. Collectively, these pantries serve over 30,000 meals per month and the need is growing exponentially with the COVID-19 crisis. Typically, each pantry would come with a number of volunteers to load the food into their vehicles. Pantry pick up will now happen through a drive thru. Help is needed to load the food into each vehicle. All volunteers will be provided with masks and gloves.

Contact rcsc@co.rockland.ny.us or 845-444-2169 for more information.

Rockland County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster

Volunteers are needed to conduct well-check telephone calls to people listed on the Special Needs Registry, also known as the Access & Functional Needs Registry. This is the Registry that is used by 911. Volunteers will inquire about the person’s food and medication status, and share Emotional Support Resources.  Based on the information exchanged in the call, if any need goes beyond the questions asked, the person will receive a follow up call from someone who can assist on a higher level.
